چکیده

In this paper, it is intended to detect and extract the changes of the environmental changes from satellite image. Environmental changes has been occurred both by passage of time and by natural disaster, like cyclone Nargis that has recently affected to Myanmar, Tsunami, etc. In present paper, image-processing techniques are applied to both high-resolution satellite images and blur satellite images to extract some of the detectable features in these types of images. Tsunami images as well as Nargis affected image were used for the experiments. Firstly, images of after Tsunami are preprocessed and registered by matching their control points. Both before and after Tsunami images are processed with color segmentation techniques, thresholding and feature extraction for detecting the damage area or the environmental change of regions, thereafter extracting to compute the percentage of changes and fields scenes from satellite images. The main focus of this paper is intended to develop the programming software to detect the environmental changes that could affect the weather condition and that could give the information about the environments by using RGB, HSB, color segmentation and Hidden Markov model. Results of this work could be help scientists to look and study environmental changes that could affect the globe in the future conditions like pollution, global climate change, natural resource management, urban growth, and much more and trend across large geographic areas. keywords: color segmentation, registration, thresholding, feature extraction, change detection.

Analysis of changes detection in Gano coal mine area using satellite image from 2000 to 2020 (northwest of Damghan)

In coal mines, fires and explosions due to rising temperatures and high coal densities are the most likely hazards. Due to the looseness of the coal-bearing terrestrial layers, there are also risks of collapsing extraction tunnels. Therefore, in order to manage the risk in coal mines, the risk model in these areas should be studied periodically. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively s...

Change detection from satellite images based on optimal asymmetric thresholding the difference image

As a process to detect changes in land cover by using multi-temporal satellite images, change detection is one of the practical subjects in field of remote sensing. Any progress on this issue increase the accuracy of results as well as facilitating and accelerating the analysis of multi-temporal data and reducing the cost of producing geospatial information. In this study, an unsupervised chang...

Detection of Coastline Using Satellite Image-Processing Technique

Extended abstract 1- Introduction  Coasts maintain their natural sustainability without human intervention and in spite of short-term changes, we are ultimately confronted with a coastal healthy environment, i.e. natural, rocky beaches, sandy beaches and so on. Today's use of remote sensing in most natural sciences is widespread. Due to the fact that fieldwork is costly and time-consuming, ...

Investigating the applicability of conventional vegetation indices for vegetation change detection in different environmental conditions

Vegetation indices have been developed to characterize and extract the Earth's vegetation cover from space using satellite images. For detection of vegetation changes, usually temporal images are independently analyzed or vegetation index differencing is implemented. A review on previous studies reveal that, in spite of developing several vegetation indices, to extract vegetation cover or veget...

Land use changes detection and spatial distribution using digital and satellite data, case study: Farim drainage basin, Northern of Iran

Land use change may influence many natural phenomena and ecological processes, including runoff, soil erosion, sedimentation and soil conditions. Decreasing of forest area in the North of Iran is one of the critical problems in recent years. The aims of this study are to detect land use changes between 1967 to 2002 using satellite images of Land Sat 7 ETM+ (2002), aerial photos and digital topo...
